Many UTV maintenance tasks can be done at home, rather than through a service department. This saves time and money that could instead be used for side-by-side adventures! But before you can tackle UTV maintenance, you will need the right tools. The following list covers some essential items you'll want in your tool kit.

Screwdrivers

A screwdriver is essential to UTV maintenance. Screwdrivers of multiple lengths and sizes are often helpful for fitting into different hard-to-reach spots. Short screwdrivers, referred to as “stubby screwdrivers” are extremely helpful when working in tight spots around the engine. You might prefer a ratcheting screwdriver set with multiple bits, but make sure to keep track of the different pieces or you’ll be left with an incomplete set that won’t be of much use.

Wood/Urethane Mallet

There’s an old mechanic’s saying that if you need a hammer, you’re probably doing it wrong. While that’s often true, a wooden or urethane mallet can be extremely helpful under certain circumstances. A quick tap with a hammer like this can help install or remove stubborn UTV parts and can make hitting clearances much easier.

Air Compressor

It's one thing to know the ideal air pressure for your tires. It's another to be able to adjust it accordingly. An air compressor helps you get your tires to the right levels they need for ideal riding.
